Clergy family members face many unique challenges and have many questions, but very often do not know where to turn for sound advice or reliable information. As we try to assist we become aware of a variety of resources and persons who may be able to be of direct help.

Family members of insured clergy who die remain eligible for various types of financial assistance. Death Claims

The death of an insured cleric begins a new relationship with The Clergy Assurance Fund, one that continues for the life of the surviving spouse (or at least until remarriage) and through completion of college or vocational education for the orphaned children. Supplemental Income

The Supplemental Income Grants provide on-going annual grants to spouses / partners of deceased clergy who have difficulty maintaining a comfortable and safe standard of living. The annual cycle begins in February, but you may follow this bridge to file an application at any time.

Emergency Aid Grant

Emergency Aid Grants are available to surviving spouses / partners for a wide variety of purposes. If you feel you are in need of this type of assistance, contact Chaplain Sherry Deets at any time. If she invites you to apply for assistance, follow this bridge for the application form.

Educational Assistance Grant

The surviving spouse / partner and children of deceased insured clergy are eligible for Educational Assistance Grants of up to $5,000 payable to the educational institution. These need-based grants may continue through the completion of the professional level of education. Follow this bridge to apply for this assistance.
